At H & H Construction we continually strive to improve the quality of our homes by using experienced subcontractors that have a proven history of high quality workmanship and by using higher quality products.

Some of the products we use include TJI Joist by Weyerhaeuser. Developed 35 years ago, these joists are engineered to provide strength and consistency.  The dimensional stability of the TJI joist helps them resist the warping, twisting, and shrinking that can lead to squeaky floors. the TJI joist is covered with an engineered floor material that is designed to work with the joist to further protection against squeaks, and provide a level floor surface that is necessary for laying tile and hardwood flooring on the upper levels of any home.

For the outside cornice of our homes, MiraTEC trim boards are desired.  Made from patented TEC process, these boards are treated with zinc borate enabling them to be moisture, rot, and termite resistant.  In addition, they are also backed by a 30 year limited warranty.

We prefer to use a super heavy weight, Grand Manor Shingle by Certain Teed for the look of slate. Providing maximum protection, this has a 5-layer coverage and an 8-inch exposure while featuring two full-size, one-piece base shingles beneath a massive weather tab.  This is their top of the line shingle backed by a Lifetime limited, transferable warranty. 

We use only high quality windows from leading manufactures that have achieved the highest wind and moisture resistance ratings of any residential window.  Their warranty protects up to ten years for manufacturing, materials and workmanship defects, and also twenty years for the insulating glass, which protects against visible obstruction caused by the failure of the glass air seal.  In our homes, PVC or extruded aluminum cladding are utilized for sills and brick moulds (which are usually the first areas to rot).

Our beautifully distressed wood front doors, at 2 ¼” thick, are engineered for the stability you need in a high humidity climate like Memphis.  Also, our solid core interior doors represent quality, and help to reduce noise transfer between rooms.

H & H Construction, L.L.C. builds fireplaces the old fashioned way, 100% masonry.  They operate great whether wood or gas logs are used, and they are so appealing because they allow us the flexibility to make the openings larger than what is expected in a liner or prefab concrete box.
